Meet the panelists and read their essays. 

Panelists are chosen for their broad range of knowledge of a particular field and for their generosity of spirit. Starting with the selection of a chair, USA staff assembles panelists for each artistic discipline in consultation with the chair of the panel. The expert panelists, five-member discipline-specific teams, meet at the USA office in Los Angeles to choose the USA Fellows to be recommended for approval by the USA Board. For continuity of experience and learning, one panelist repeats from the previous year. The panels serve confidentially until the announcement of the new USA Fellows.
