Shawn M. Donnelley

Shawn Donnelley is president of Strategic Giving, a firm providing consultation on philanthropy. She serves as chairman of the board of the Goodman Theatre, as well as on the board of Loyola University New Orleans, the auxiliary board of the Art Institute of Chicago, the visiting committee of the University of Chicago Divinity School, and the boards of three private foundations. Her commitment to Chicago’s nonprofit community was recognized by Today's Chicago Woman magazine, which named Ms. Donnelley one of 100 Women Making a Difference in Chicago; by Crain’s Chicago Business, which named her one of 40 under 40 in Chicago in 2008; and by Oprah Winfrey’s Angel Network. Additionally, she was awarded the Outstanding Individual Philanthropist award by the Treasure Coast Association of Fundraising Professionals. The former head of political affairs for R. R. Donnelley, the world's premier full-service provider of print and related services, Ms. Donnelley placed second in a field of 11 primary candidates running for nomination to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2000. A veteran of numerous political campaigns, she hosted a television political talk show in Boston and has taught political communications at several colleges and universities. She received a B.A. from Loyola University New Orleans and an M.A. from Emerson College. A Florida native, Ms. Donnelley resides in Chicago.
