New York, NY

Choreographer Ralph Lemon is artistic director of Cross Performance Inc. in New York. Lemon develops intellectually rigorous, experimental, and innovative performances that are as socially and politically resonant as they are elegantly personal and formally beautiful. His epic cycle The Geography Trilogy—which includes Geography, Tree, and Come Home Charley Patton—took eight years to develop and has been performed at major venues across the United States such as the Walker Art Center, Brooklyn Academy of Music, and Yale Repertory Theater. He has also exhibited installations drawn from his research and working process as artwork, and has published several books to accompany The Geography Trilogy with Wesleyan University Press. Lemon is the recipient of numerous honors, including a Bessie, the CalArts Alpert Award in the Arts, and the American Choreographers Award.
