Awards

Our annual, unrestricted awards celebrate artists and cultural practitioners who have significantly contributed to the creative landscape and arts ecosystem of the country.

With these unrestricted cash awards and an optional year of financial planning services, awardees have the freedom to determine how to use the funding—be it housing or medical expenses, investing in new studio equipment, or making new work.

USA Fellows

United States Artists Fellowships are $50,000 unrestricted awards for artists and collectives working throughout the United States and its territories across the following disciplines: Architecture & Design, Craft, Dance, Film, Media, Music, Theater & Performance, Traditional Arts, Visual Art, and Writing. Each year, the Fellowship recognizes artists at all career stages—emerging, mid-career, and established—for their contributions to the cultural landscape of the country.

Berresford Prize

The Berresford Prize is a $50,000 award given annually to a cultural organizer who has contributed significantly to the advancement, well-being, and care of artists in society. This award acknowledges the remarkable curators, administrators, scholars, and producers who catalyze our cultural landscape—reinforcing USA’s commitment to supporting a robust and thriving arts ecosystem.

Assembly

Assembly is an annual convening intended to cultivate lasting connections between the latest class of USA awardees and connect them with arts funders and leaders from across the country. The convening is designed to foster an environment of care through learning and bonding over the course of a few days. Awardees are also featured in Anthology, our annual intern-produced publication that examines artists’ relationships with the world around them in unexpected ways.
